| The first anniversary
gave us many reasons to celebrate the day – to refresh our
fortitude, to give our special children an occasion to celebrate
and to provide them with another reason to smile. A funfair was arranged to celebrate the first anniversary, which turned out to be a great success. All special schools in Lahore were invited to send their children, our main aim being to stir a sense of comradeship among them. Our children participated enthusiastically preparing stage performances that were fully appreciated by the audience. Food and game stalls drew a lot of attention. Children and the parents spent the day enjoying each other’s company; another step closer to our goal! The day ended with the Director’s address full of appreciation notes for the teachers and parents who supported and helped children in their efforts. A pledge was made by everyone present to keep up the good work and the spirits high regardless of the circumstances and to celebrate this day every year with the same zeal and fervor. |
